What a week!!

Wow – what a busy week!!

Well done to everyone in Year 6 who did so well this week with both work and behaviour during SATs.  You should all be very proud of yourselves!!

I hope everyone enjoyed our post SATs celebrations on Friday afternoon and well done my class for winning the rounders game!

It was a sad end to the week having to say goodbye to Laura.  We all wish Laura and her family the best of luck in their move down under.  Don’t forget to keep in touch via the blog Laura!

One more week to go til half term term.  A busy week ahead with visits from Morley High on Monday and Friday and Woodkirk on Friday too.

I hope everyone has enjoyed reading through their scrips for The Bully and is ready for auditions next week.

Friday 9th May – SATs Next Week!!

Hiya year 6 we all know that SATs are coming up next week. So we better be prepared and ready for the tests. There are lost of good ways to help get ready: Go to bed earlier than usual; eat breakfast every morning; take breaks to school (2 or more) for in between tests and pma (positive mental attitude). Remember to revise for a bit over the weekend but also relax too, we don’t want you to be over stressed! All the best for your SATs!!!

Friday 25th April

Hi,

Today we had a bit of silent reading in the morning so Miss Soulsby could get all her stuff ready for the day, then we did English we had to do a test to finish of a play script it was hard!!! Then we had lunch yum yum!! Next we finished off our explanation text ‘ How The Heart Pumps Blood Around The Body’. Finally some people left to go play a game of rugby and the rest of the class played games!!

Science Homework

Make a leaflet promoting a healthy lifestyle.

 

Remember to include:

• Title
• Introduction (explaining what your leaflet is about)
• Subheadings
• Paragraphs under each subheading (including subject specific vocab)
• Conclusion (summarising what the leaflet is about)

 

Remember a leaflet should be:

• informative                   
• eye-catching (colourful)

Friday 11th April

Today we did Wake Up Shake Up, then we did English, we did the rest of our formal explanations.Some people went out to do D.T while others did jobs or doodle diaries.Then we had play time, which was lots of fun.After, we did Maths,and we found out our results for S.A.T.S. Then we had our lunch and our second playtime.After that,Miss Soulsby read some of Kensukes Kingdom while we did little doodles about the story.Then we had our 15 minutes break, which was our Class Wide Rewards.Then we did the blog.

Spelling Homework

Hi Year 6 I’m sure your supply of chocolate must be starting to run out by now and some of you may even be thinking about your homework (or not!). Before the holidays we agreed to stretch ourselves and try to make our spelling homework a little more interesting by using complex sentences. Here are some quick and easy tips for how to turn simple sentences into complex sentences by dropping in clauses and starting with ing words. Give it a go!

Oh – and don’t forget full, stops, capital letters and commas! 

!             Drop in a clause.(they often start with a ‘wh’ word) 

The man, who was very angry, went down the road.

The box, which was very small, was found.

!             Start your sentence with an ‘ing’ word.

Sprinting down the road, the man tripped and fell.

Laughing out loud, John finally understood the joke.

In Year 6 we have been thinking about what we already know and what we would like to find out.

Here are our questions.  Can you help us to answer them?

How are sparks formed and do they have anything to do with electricity?

How are cells drawn in circuits?

Does the plastic on wires protect them from water?

If you cut a wire can it be fixed.

What colour is electricity?

Does electricity have a certain shape?

1. Sum is 5.5, difference is 2.3.

2. Sum is 12.65, difference is 4.83

3. Sum is 9.7, difference is 1.6.

Friday 14th March

Hi everone!!
   Today we got our science results,everone did very well.  Some people even skiped a whole level!!!!   Then in English we all finished off our stories which had  flashbacks in them. Half of the class went to finish of their cushions in D.T while the other half finished their stories. Then it was playtime “yes playtime!” .Next it was maths .Then most of the children went and did running with Mr Wingfiled while the other children got started on their easter designs.  After a while the people from running came back and started their desings…!!!The footballers went to football with Mr Wingfield and thats it . HAVE A NICE WEEKEND EVRYONE HOPE U ENJOY IT BYE XX

Hiya

Today we have assembly.

Then we did English and we finished our second paragraph. Then we did Guided Reading. Then we split into Maths groups. We had a yummy in my tummy lunch! After that we did  a spelling test
